What is the name of your state? AL but ncp is in WV

Has anyone had any experience with child support agencies other than state cse?

I looked into a few places but the only ones I found really were ones that they would get it but then take a percentage. They seemed to be just like state cse though where you had to give them all the information anyways... If I was doing all the work I figured why should they get any of my children's money. You can do it yourself.. File the paperwork, pay to have him/her served that is that I'm assuming there is a court order.

Thank you for responding. I have gone to the court and had his wages garnished. The result......I recieved two payments and he quit. Now I'm not quite sure where he is. I think he may be working under the table for his dad, but am not sure. The problem is that he lives on the state line and goes back and forth between two states. I'm just so tired of bugging cse to no avail.

I know your problem well however unless you can give another agency any idea where he works then you're pretty screwed and if you could then why give them any money. The only thing I can think of is hire a PD to see if they can find out where he works and you take it from there. I have the same problem. CSE got him and then he quit after it took me a year to find out where he was working.

My husband used SUPPORT KIDS.COM to bring in his ex-wife on her child support. But beware. There are a couple of things they don't tell you on their t.v. commericals.

1. They may say "no cost to you", but actually they get 33% of whatever they collect.

2. You sign a one year contract. If they can't find the person or they can't get any money out of them, they will let you out of the contract. Otherwise, you have to meet one of three criteria to be released from it.
A. The NCP is deceased.
B. No collections for like the last 6 months of the contract.
C. (I don't remember this last one! It's been a while.)

3. You have to fill out a bunch of paperwork and give them the names and address of family members they can contact to try to find the NCP.

Actually, this worked out well for us at first because the "enforcement specialist" called my husband's ex-wife and threatened her with a license suspension, jail time, seizure of property, etc. if she didn't start coughing up payments. Amazingly, after she had dodged paying my husband for 5 years, once she heard all that she changed her tune and started paying for a while. She eventually quit her job, the contract expired and now she once again gives my husband nothing for the kids. But.....since you ask abut other agencies.....that's my two cents.

It seems like you're better off going with the state agency, and doing anything else you can to help them track him down. If you fill out child support papers from DSS, then there is no charge. Plus, you don't have to worry about the "small print" when dealing with state agencies. I can't believe other child support agencies would even SUGGEST taking a percentage of a child's support...I experienced a similar situation with my son's bio dad--he dodged the child support office for months, either changing jobs (working under the table) or moving. Finally, I said "enough" and through mutual friends and other sources, found his job--and mailed a copy of the child support papers to his parent's residence, and what do you know--I had his mailing address the very next day. Don't give up :-)
