What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? I am in California and write music for companies. Since the product is custom, it is not in existence and thus unavailable for licensing. Instead, i make them works for hire under our service agreement. However, I just found out that makes me an employee of the company under California law. Any way around this? I put a clause in saying I was an independent contractor but I am not sure that is sufficient. Thanks! What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?
