So I'm a student and have been working at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth as an office aide since the beginning of the school year (Sept. 6, 2017) and I have yet to receive a paycheck. As far as I'm aware I am supposed to be getting paid bi-weekly as stated in the contract I signed. Not sure if anything can be done legally or what I should do.

When you called the Payroll office and asked them, what did they say?

So I contacted payroll today, and they just now received all my information and paperwork so I'm going to be getting paid in two more weeks. They told me it was illegal for me to be working there and that I should have only started working starting this coming Monday...soo ya. I just called student employment again and I'm going to see if any compensation can be made for this. Now I will have two late credit card bills, one for September and October :)

Just so you are clear. When they said illegal they didn't or at least shouldn't have meant YOU did anything illegal.

They screwed up. You are due pay for every hour you worked. If you don't get that shortly come back and tell us. We can direct you to the state agency that will fix that for you.

At first I thought she said I was the one who was doing something illegal, but she just miss spoke, I understood what she meant. Sucks I won't be getting any compensation, if I knew I wasn't going to get paid for nine weeks I would not have working for this office. I should be getting paid in two weeks, might be the full amount.
