What is the name of your state? California

Hello. I just received my portion from the sale of our family home which was
bequeathed to my siblings & myself. My problem is that in my Dad's Will, and
on the check that I received from the adminstrator, the middle-name is "Edward",
when mine is "Alan". This was a mistake in the Will. My 1st & last name are
correct. I won't be able to negotiate the check with the wrong middle-name.

What can I do? It is too late to change the Will being that my Dad is deceased
and I'd like to cash the check soon.

Thanks!

Show your official identification to the administrator and ask for the old check to be voided and ask for a new check to be issued with the middle name either left off or corrected, and ask that your date of birth (month and year only) also be shown on the check.

Contacted the administrators lawyer - whom contacted the administrator - who issued a new check without my middle-name.

Hey Dandy Don. Do you want to hear something funny. As a backup, I went to the county recorders office & obtained a copy of my birth certificate. I found out that I've been mis-spelling my middle-name for the last 35-years!
