What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California (Los Angeles)

I have been working for this company close to one year. A couple of months ago, I made the managers aware that my significant other has a serious health condition and require special treatment (surgery). Last week, we found a surgeon but is out of state. I was given authorization from the managers to take an emergency leave. Ironically, today was the surgery and I get a call from the employer stating I missed an important meeting and as a result I am fired.

Do I have any legal rights to sue them for wrongful termination?

Thanks

Not wrongful. You are not eligible for FMLA/CFRA. The employer doesn't need to tolerate your absence.
