Miami Florida. Hello I was driving home the other night and I was listening to my music and everything trying to make it home in time to sleep. I was not at all paying attention really in back of me my eyes was focus to the front I was already in the right lane the ambulance came by with their lights on I think and no siren at for sure he gave me a little honk and went faster the speed limit was 45mph. Was I in the wrong cause I was the only one on the street and then this ambulance came pass me?

Yes. You were wrong. Pay your fine if your were cited. Also pay attention to what is going on around you while driving and keep you music at a volume that doesn't block out honking horns, sirens... etc...

You need to yield according to state law. Yes, you were wrong.
Also, you need to pay attention to your surroundings. If you were so tired, you should not have been driving

Yet. The ambulance may have gotten video/pic of your plate and you will get a citation in the mail. Be more carful in the future.
See that is the other thing I am worried about I know it's up to the driver to report it if the ambulance has a camera praying nothing happens. And if I do get one do you know what will happen?

I think you shouldn't worry about it so much now. Wait to see what happens. I suspect you aren't going to hear another thing about it.

ETA: I understand and agree that it's possible that you will receive a citation by mail, but I think it's more likely you won't.

Of course you like it!! FA is wonderful! :)
Hello sorry to bother you again I know you said really dont worry about it but just out of curiosity what is the difference between just paying the ticket and that's saying you admit that you are guilty. And going to the judge and then be found guilty in the court?

Time and court costs.

I drove ambulances and fire engines for years. Unless a cop observed you and wrote you at the time, nothing is going to happen. I've even had police officers sitting next to me in the ambulance when people have pulled bonehead stunts in front of us. While the officer grumbled about wishing he had his ticket book with him, nothing was going to come of it.

The danger is that if there is an emergency situation in progress, chances are there are "less than essential" cops also responding just because they heard the call, and these folks would enjoy pulling you over almost as much as showing up on the fire/EMS scene.
