OK, we have some issues here. I have spoken with several other people, and have had experiences of my own, so I know it is not just us who are having trouble with this.
The State police in this county and the adjoining one are either totally inept or totally corrupt. I have discovered 2 instances where they thoroughly searched peoples homes without warrants of any kind. In one instance everything in the home was photographed until a neighbor discovered what was going on and demanded that they either produce a warrant or leave the property (they left). My home was searched with a warrant obtained by the police knowingly using false information. Random acts of vandalism were common themes in these searches. I have discovered an instance where the police lied to victims of a robbery about who had robbed them, which later caused an extremely dangerous situation for innocent people. In one situation 9-11 was called by an individual with a mental illness. The police officer came and discovered the facts of the mental illness. Later on this individuals home was raided, but no weapons were removed from the home. This set up the perfect dangerous situation yet again. Then, because of the results of that, the home was searched for weapons. Again, only certain weapons were confiscated, while others, even ones listed on the arrest warrant, were not. In another case, a known drug dealer was busted for the fourth time in one year (he got off the first 2 times due to "faulty" paperwork). He was handcuffed and taken to jail. A week and a half later the officer "discovered" a quantity of drugs the individual had hidden in his cruiser. Suppose this drug dealer would have had some type of weapon?!! In another instance an individual reported an attempted burglary which involved someone being shot in the leg as he was chasing the burglar. The police did not bother to investigate this, but rather tried to implicate the individual who was shot in some other crime he had nothing to do with. One persons home was even allowed to burn to the ground AFTER it was thoroughly searched. One man was shot by an officer IN THE SHOULDER (obviously shooting to kill) who was hiding behind a bar and suddenly jumped up WITHOUT a weapon.That officer was sent home for the rest of the day and transferred to the neighboring county. No comment available from the police, of course. I have also discovered a number of people who either had called the police for some reason, or were inadvertantly a part of an investigation of some type (such as the land lord of someone who committed a crime), who were ill treated or treated like common criminals themselves.
Either these particular State Police are total fools, or they just enjoy setting up situations in which people end up being hurt in one way or another. Common practice seems to be lying, even on the witness stand, fabricating evidence, and if one of the officers causes too much trouble, they are simply transferred to a different county.
What would be the best way to approach this issue? Most folks do not even realize just what goes on "behind the scenes". The police count on people being too afraid of them to do anything about these types of things. Could there be a class action lawsuit in this mess somewhere? Who should be investigating these situations? What about media involvement? What can be done to rein in these bozos?
