I am supposed to sign a commercial lease for my gift shop tomorrow and am freaking out. If business goes bad and I am not making enough money to pay the rent can I claim bankruptcy to get out of the lease aggreement or would I still be liable for paying the full amount for the term of the lease if sued?
Thanks

Assuming this is a d/b/a (sole proprietorship), your lease obligation would be terminated by a court discharge.
