I just like to know if someone here has done a patent for both USA and Canada or can explain to me how detailed a patent application must be?

For example, if my invention was a new kind of way to extract orange juice titled:
"Powered knife slicing juicer" or something where the title basically explains what the invention is, how thorough must I be in explaining the invention?

There are many ways the slicing action can be done and the key to the invention is the Knives instead of a whipping an orange to pieces. And if I describe the knives in a general way, I could cover all the ways someone could design knives and then there will be less chances of someone else profiting a similar invention.

The patent processes are different in each country, although the similarities probably outweigh the differences.

Do a search on Google for Canadian and U.S. patents, read one, that will give you an idea of what level of detail is required. There is a reason why patent agents charge many thousands of dollars to prepare an application -- a detailed title falls very, very short of what is needed.
