So, how about we all get our responses together when mom comes on here wanting to know how to modify custody... they have joint custody??? If mom was smart, not for long:

Nevada:
A 2-year-old girl was left in a car in 95 degree heat for two hours at a brothel parking lot on Saturday, Storey County Sheriff_s deputies said.

Deputies arrested the girl_s father, Lucien Hoffman of Bend, Ore., on charges of child neglect. Hoffman told deputies he was attending a function at the Mustang Ranch brothel.

The brothel_s security guard found the child crying inside the car and took her indoors until authorities arrived, according to the crime report. They told deputies they were unable to find the girl_s parent or guardian.

The toddler was treated for dehydration and released to the Nevada Division of Child and Family Services, deputies said.

They said Hoffman, who is unmarried, shares joint custody of the child with her mother, who lives in Bend. Deputies said they believe the child was left in the vehicle for at least two hours in 95-degree heat.

Hoffman was being held at the Storey County Jail Sunday in lieu of $40,000 bail.

Wait a minute here .

While the father here deserves bashing , let's not generally bash fathers .

Something similiar happened right here. It was a woman who "forgot" to drop her 5 month old baby off at a daycare which coincidentally could be seen from her place of employment. The mother left the baby for 9 hours and he died. She got off. DA refused to even press charges. "She'd been punished enough and everyone who saw her would judge her and would condemn her as well." BS, she should have been arrested.

Not to mitigate either ONE of these circumstances, because in each case a child was injured (at best) and in one case, 2 babies died but:

The woman didn't have child care and (stupidly) decided to leave the kids in the car with food, a fan and some water. Not the brightest thing to do because I have always said that I am a mom before I am someone's employee.

But...

This man went to a brothel to get some a$$ and left the baby in the parking lot. ARE YOU KIDDING ME????

Now, neither one of these "parents" would get off easy with me, but how many of us have been a little torn about attendance issues at work and childcare? It's a national epidemic - the lack of childcare in America. Never have I heard of the need to visit a brothel and leave the kid in the car.

I sure hope you aren't implying that mothers don't do the same sorts of stupid, irresponsible acts? Or that mothers don't also perpetrate murder/suicides?

Not at all, in fact I'll be the first to admit stupidity, ignorance and irresponsibility cross all gender lines. I was talking about these 2 cases in particular. There are umpteen cases of "someone left the baby in the car" cases summer after summer.

Just a little while ago there was the story of the mother, grandmother and aunt who left the kids in the car while they went to get their hair done...
