I have an idea for a product that is very clever but easily replicated. Is there anyway to protect it if I want to produce it for sale? I also invented the blue jean skirt in the 70's and would like a nickel for every one of them that sold..

The only way to protect it is through a patent. Your best bet is to sit down with a local patent attorney or patent agent who can review your "idea" and advise you as to what protections a patent might afford you. You can search for a local patent agent or attorney at http://des.uspto.gov/OEDCI/
