Please Help on Patent an Idea?

Can someone please help me find info about an patenting an Idea or a word that is commonly used? Example: you have found out that a certain animal specie body part spells out a very common word in a certain language. Therefore, is their anyway you can patent that without any other inventor stealing your idea since the word I am trying to patent is a certain written in a certain animal specie

and no, you can't patent a word.

Okay I understand now. However, what if you can use a very common word as a trademark in a form of a image. Can you do that then? Ex: a hand gesture spells out a certain word and you take that picture or image as a trademark for your business. so, can you someone then use their own hand to make the same gesture to make the same word and use it as a trademark also?

Review trademark law. You don't just think about something, you have to use it. Then there are limitations in the markets in which you use it.
