Canada.

I'm posted here before, and I'm hoping for some more help.

I may be getting my American license soon, and I am slowly making contacts with law firms who are interested in my potential client base, so I may be able to get my EB 2(a). I can probably get four out of the six, though I only need three.

But, just in case, I'm wondering what constitutes "exceptional salary"? I'm doing quite well for a Canadian lawyer, and, probably for an American lawyer, but I don't know the case law for that requirement. The more cards I have, presumably, the better.

My other alternative is to get the national interest waiver - I don't know if it's in the national interest to admit another lawyer, but I meet at least four of the six - five depending on what exceptional salary is.

Most people asking questions about immigrating to the US would NOT be residing in an American state. But I want to set up a law firm in New York.
