DUI on prsciption drugs

Well I quit going to see th dr for th same reasons that rocktopler posted,plus I am learning xanax with mdone DOES caus amnesia. Man does it ever,I am taking small bites at nite,and i mean tiny bites,like my councelour said to do.

OMG rock i'm sorry about your accident,but how long were or have you been on you combination of meds they had you on?

I've been on one benzo or another ( they like to switch them off) as long as I can remember I was born with epilepsy. I've been on narcotic pain meds for about ten years. (mostly 40mg oxycontin) because it was believed that I had stomach cancer luckily as it finally turned out I had cysts that where benine and a gull bladder that would blow up to softball size causing great pain all through out my torso. The doctors knew I had an addiction by that time so they sent me to a pain specialist who suggested putting me on methadone, and weening me off. Well I got down quite a bit and was doing good then I had the accident I explained earlier so they had to up my dose again and he said it will probably be 2 years before I can start going back down. My current dosage of methadone is 105mg a day. They say putting me under for surgery is like putting an elephant under for surgery lol...

I have no idea where that statement came from, but you didn't know that? Really??? What do you think rehab centers are for? Do you honestly think that they have a 0% success rate?

Ok, apparently you and I differ on our judging of levels of mistakes. I classify spilling grape juice on a white carpet or dropping keys into a sewer grate as mistakes. I don't classify life threatening errors as mistakes. If your doctor didn't explictly ask about and/or you didn't explicitly tell them about current medications, you were asking for trouble.


And for the record I'm not bitching... how you choose to end your life is your own business You just seem like the type that would do something so colossally stupid and try to sue for malpractice. That irritates me.

Apparently you read the first sentence of my post and fired off this one. I specifically said I wouldn't try to to sue anyone for my mistake. I was not as well informed about the 2 meds at the time, and no matter what I now won't allow any doctor to prescribe me anything unless he knows everything else I take. I learned a lesson. I wasn't choosing to end my life, and don't intend to I have 2 beautiful kids that insure that thought would never cross my mind. And BTW what have I ever posted that would lead you to believe that I would do something so "colossally stupid" and try to sue for malpractice ??? Please enlighten me I didn't start this post just merely adding a MISTAKE or call it what you will that happened to me before I understood how dangerous drug interactions could be. I agree with you people should take responsibility for their actions and not try to sue the doctors and make health care even higher. You call yourself a reformed man so obviously you've made a mistake or two in your life as well so climb off the high horse... We're all human.

If you have 2 kids, make sure they stay in school, I'm tired of reading things that show my how much the education system has failed. Using words like "insure" instead of "ensure" (unless you're in insurance) and "now" instead of "know" (personal pet peeve of mine) drive me up the wall (look up definition of this saying if needs be). I have read your posts, and when I say that your mistake was completely on you I mean it. The way you seem to pawn things off on your doctor is extremely irksome (Dictionary.com). It doesn't matter how well-informed you think you may be about medications, every doctor HAS TO BY LAW ask you what medications you are taking before prescribing you another one. The fact that you didn't tell him rests squarely on your shoulders.

Really, give an example of me blaming my doctor on my stupidity, and since you couldn't find anything to back your claim you start attacking my grammar, and kids. how predictable. I work third shift I'm not going to be totally perfect with my grammar excuse me. I didn't know that you could look up figures of speech in the dictionary anyway. I made one post concerning a surgeon who botched my leg operation, and he has since offered to pay for the removal of the hardware he installed incorrectly ,and my time off work. Other than that you can find nothing that shows that I believe a doctor should be responsible for ones mistake. I did fill out the paper work in the waiting room, and declared the meds I was on like you said they have to ask. My mistake was not reiterating them in the exam room. For Gods sake I admit I made a mistake what the hell do you want from me anyway. Unless you got anything else on me besides my grammar just drop it.

"You're", a conjunction between you and are. On that note though, kudos on correctly spelling factual. I also think it's laughable that you seem to believe that I can't look up the thread that you started about thinking your doctor committed malpractice, and then proceed to tell me you're (note the spelling) not the suing type

Actually, I hoped you would look it up. face it man you said I seemed like the kind of person that would make a colossal mistake, and try to sue the doctor, your still wrong. In that case the Doctor made the mistake, and like I said we settled he is paying to have the hardware removed, and the difference that disability doesn't pay while I'm off work. I just pointed that out two threads back (thats the surgeon that botched the leg surgery) so actually I gave it to you, and I find it laughable that you still took the time to look it up and come up with what I already said. Thats all I wanted I made it clear my intentions was not to get rich. Just wanted him to take responsibility for his actions. I got a second opinion, and a third opinion, and both told me the same thing the hardware was installed completely wrong and carelessly, and needed to come out as soon as possible, and being a single father yes I wanted to recoup a little and I feel really blessed at what he offered me.

As far as my grammar goes I did my thesis years ago this is a forum for crying out loud, and again I work nights so I'm not at all concerned if I violate one of your little "pet peeves"I know you slam your head against your desk every time I do but maybe if I do it enough you'll knock some since into yourself.

Anyway I'm not going to continue arguing with the grammar geek so feel free to keep replying but you'll never find anything I said that backs up what kind of person you accused me of being so grow up, or get a life, or something man... GEEZ
