What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Texas

I am unsure of the statute of limitations on child support if there are any.

OK. I was adopted by my step-father at 8 years old. My father (I rather call him biological father, but I will respect the forum rules) gave up his rights, because he said he wanted to do the right thing. I am still unsure to this day if that was his true reasoning. That's not the point.

The point is that: He was ordered by the court to pay child support to my mother and he would on occasion. In a year's time he would pay probably 1/4 of the child support that was ordered. When the court would start to garnish his wages he would quit his job or get his pay in cash.

I have seen the papers of how much is unpaid, would it be worth it to go and try to collect the unpaid amount? Or is there a statute of limitations on how long you have to collect? Or does the unpaid amount not matter because my father gave up his rights to my step-father?

Thank you.

This doesn't involve you. It is between your mother and your biological father (your situation is one of the few where that term is acceptable, if used appropriately).

In any case, the money is not yours and the "fight" is not yours.

OK Thank you. I didn't think so but I was unsure since I am over 18. Thank you for the help.

Have a good Turkey Day.

Last post ever

Why is ANYONE wasting time answering someone who has already deleted TWO threads? Prepare that she will delete this one.

I was only asking about the 8 years of unpaid CS.

I will go somewhere else that I'm not being targeted at because I deleted a post. I am protected under the 1st amendment of freedom of speech.

Have a great life.
