This is what happens when you don't co-parent.

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Everywhere.

I was just taking a break from work and letting my brain idle and reading a web site called F@*$ My Life. It is a collection of horrible real life moments in people's day. I just happened to come across this one. I hope that no parent who has ever been on this board causes this to happen in their child's life.

Today, my parents, who are divorced, were arguing over who has to pay for my bus pass. They decided they wouldn't pay unless the other one did too. Neither will pay the £60 it'll cost for my bus pass. I now have to walk to school every day, in freezing winter weather. It's 9 miles. Each way.

If you can not strive to be good co-parents, then please at least never allow your actions to hurt your child. Imagine what this child feels everyday knowing that her parents hate each other more than they love her. :(

Even though we could argue that the child should get a job and pay for the bus pass herself, this is an excellent example of how NOT to parent.

From the use of the pound sign...was this from a Brit?

And are we talking about college school or regular old school?

(as ever there is a reason behind the questions ;) )

And if this was from a Brit, wouldn't s/he have stated the distance in kilometres? :p

The web site takes submissions from all over the world. Sometimes things are updated in the comments sections. Being this is a newer post, there isn't much there yet.

I will keep an eye on it.
