The child is suppose to be covered by mom's medicaid...my husband never gave her information regarding my insurance...so I was suprise to know how I received 10 claims for my husband's child?

The claims would have never materialized had the children not been covered. So the kids are covered whether Dad take them to the doctor or Mom does.

If you don't want the kid covered remove them from your insurance and stop whining about it. Jeesshhh, how unfreakin believable.

Medicaid will be the secondary insurance if your stepson is covered under your insurance. So if the child is seen then your insurance company would be billed first and anything not covered by your insurance would be covered by medicaid. It is really quite simple. The state would rather the insurance provide than the tax payers and the state. That is how medicaid works if another insurance is involved.

You said you don't know the child's doctor's information? How can that be if you saw the claims?

what im saying is ...the MOM never gave us the child doctor information..so how was she able to make a claim on my insururance????!!!!! we have nothing on the child...no doctor, info, no SS#...nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! why did this claim come to us?????????????

Hello...Mcfly... because you carry the insurance. That is why it came to you:rolleyes:

Dad and Mom need to communicate, but that isn't your battle, right:cool:

Ok read what I posted AGAIN. Even if your husbands ex had no clue about your insurance MEDICAID would know. They would then give the Dr's office that information to bill first. It is really quite easy. Why are you trying to make it a darn mystery novel? Read this MEDICAID WOULD MAKE SURE THE PRIMARY INSURANCE YOUR INSURANC WAS BILLED FIRST BECAUSE TAXPAYER AND STATE SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY IF CHILD HAS INSURANCE ANYTHING THAT THE PRIMARY (YOUR) INSURANCE DOES NOT COVER MEDICAID SHOULD. So again MEDICAID probably gave the information they are very good about making sure that they don't pay if the person has another insurance. So stop the drama will all the !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!????????????????????????????????? You have your answer. Say thank you now.

Medicaid is a SECONDARY insurance. NOT a primary when the child is on other insurance. Dad and you are both selfish and attempting to defraud the government. Why should the primary be used if public assistance is available? SERIOUSLY!

Why would you add his child to your policy but then attempt to withhold that information from the child's mother? That makes NO sense at all.

Medicaid has limited funds. They are SECONDARY to any commercial insurance that may be in place from any source. THEY will investigate to find out if any other coverage is available for the child before they pay anything. That is the most likely source of mom's information about your coverage.

But the fact that she didn't have a card of her own for the child is beyond stupid and vindictive on the part of both you and dad. You both need to get your head in the right place and start putting the child's needs first. This is not a "you vs mom" situation or a "you and dad vs mom" situation or even a "dad vs mom" situation. This is mom and dad working together for the best interest of their child and you in the background, loving dad and child and facilitating mom and dad co-parenting their child together, or you just sitting down and keeping your mouth shut and your nose out of it if you can't be civil.

True enough.
Why COVER the kids by name if you don't intend to COVER the kids.
Medicaid could choose to reverse payments when they discover evidence of other health insurance for these children and force those claims through your insurance as the primary carrier -- because it IS.

Please answer: Why are you covering the kids on your policy in the first place?
What does your DH think of you trying to hide the policy from Mom to use?

That was exactly my first reaction to this post. I see claims from health insurance companies in my job almost daily and I promise you the doctor's information is on those forms.

Get it through your thick selfish head. It does not matter. The insurance covered your husband's child. YOU added the child to your policy so mom had every right to use it. End of freakin story:mad::mad::mad:

...thick and selfish, what horrible combinations.
