What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?
Ca
I am an 18 year old male. At my Grad nite, I was told I had to take off my shirt in order to turn it inside out. There was nothing offensive on my shirt. If I did not comply, I would not have been allowed inside. I felt humilated to take my shirt off in public. I was not given an option to go in a restroom or changing area. I have emailed Disneyland and they say it's the responsibility of the schools going to Grad Nite and my school has nothing to say. Is there anything legal I can do? I was 17 at the time and it still bothers me. I should add, I have Autism, but the security had no way to know that.

What DID your t-shirt have on it?

Did you ask if you could go somewhere more private?

How have you been permanently damaged by this?

Grad Nite at Disneyland has a dress code. They've always had a dress code...

so what was wrong with your shirt?

It was a popular brand name shirt made by "AND1". It had words "take over" and " free radio". I don't recalll anything else.
No, I didn't ask to go anywhere. The line was long and rushed and I felt pressured by the security guy. He kept talking over me anytime I tried to talk. His tone was very, very nasty.
As for damage. I have been to a Psychologist for therapy, but I can't get this out of my mind. Anytime I see anything Disney, it takes me back to the moment. Is there anything I can do? Thank you for responding.

Seek therapy.

Oh, you mean can you sue anyone?

No, you can't.

See Disneyland's dress code...prohibited apparel include:
Apparel with logos larger than the size of your fist
and
Clothing affiliated with schools, sports teams (And1 has a street ball team), clubs...

Stop watching Disney, continue with your therapy (because believe me, this didn't send you there) and get over it.

If it makes you feel better, they could have just kicked you out and sent you home (without a refund), but they didn't.

The security guy never said what was wrong with my shirt. I was able to ask why? He just said " that's the rule". He made some comment about logos, but the policy was no school names or team sports names. This is what the school told us in the policy.

You have no legal recourse.

I guess my school didn't it make it clear no logos at all and I didn't know AND1 had a team. Thank you for all the replies. I am trying to get over this.

I guess you don't understand Autism. It not easy for us to let things go. Sorry if you don't get it, but thanks anyway.

If you have to respond by wondering why I would need therapy and why I say I am trying to get over this, you show by your lack of knowlegde that you know nothing about Autism or ASD. I didn't assume anything. I appreciate the posting of the dress code and it's true, they could have just asked me to leave. Making fun of my stress or intepretation of the events and how they affected me seems juvenile on your part. And you ask what's wrong with ME? LOL!
