What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Missouri, Specifically, St. Louis, City.

There is a particular [public] hotel that has twice refused to allow me to use a restroom, despite my informing them that I was ill, and that my need constituted an emergency.

I thought that refusing restrooms to the public was illegal in St. Louis?

What makes you think that?

so, you just happen to get sick in front of this hotel all the time? I wonder what the chances of that happening are.

If this "public" hotel was really privately owned, and no state or local ordinance otherwise requires them to allow non-guests to use their restrooms, then they have every right to refuse you entry. No hotel wants to be known as the pee & poop pit-stop for the town's flotsam and jetsam.

A search of local laws and Google failed to find any mention or debate of any sort of state local ordinance that might mandate bathrooms be open to the public. If there is one that you are aware of, can you point us to it?

Very uncivilized of them ... you could have asked for a room I guess; after all, it was an emergency

There is no ordinance that requires restrooms be open to the public in St. Louis or St. Louis County. If there is one, I would like to see it also.
