As the communicator, it is at least partially your fault. I now have my answer from another member who is an effective communicator. I suggest you read their posts in an attempt to glean that mastery of the English language.

I suggest you adjust your attitude towards the volunteers.

You're welcome for the accurate and free advice you've received. If you want anything else now, you'll have to pay an attorney for it :rolleyes:

Not sure what business this is of yours, but Patty's answer was perfect so no need for further discussion.

I suggest you buzz off. This is not your business. The tone of my response was commensurate with the one I received.

No, your tone was that of a...well let's just say that I'd prefer to stay on the forum. Good day to you. Please hope that you don't need the services of our fine forum in the future...we have long memories.

I suggest that you take your attitude and put it where the sun don't shine.

That effective enough a communication for you?

My friend, as a published author with a degree in the subject, I've forgotten more about grammar and writing than you will ever know. If I choose to utilize certain freedoms in the pursuit of accurate and/or forceful communications, that's my right.

You received an accurate and clear response to your question in my first post. It was your choice to muddy the waters with irrelevant issues, perhaps due to your own ignorance, or perhaps just due to stupidity. In any case, I'm done with you. And as was already pointed out, the people on these forums have long memories, so if you have any other questions, you would be well advised to take them elsewhere. Be advised that I respond on at least five other boards besides this one.

I suggest you be advised that I learned what I know about illegal discrimination FROM cbg. The only reason I went further is because you seemed to not get it any other way.

You may have learned what you know about illegal discrimination from cbg, but s(h)e can learn a lesson from you regarding communication. In particular, how to answer a yes/no question.

Your words in this thread are evidence to the contrary.

If I choose to utilize certain freedoms in the pursuit of accurate and/or forceful communications, that's my right.

Agreed. But it does not change how foolish it makes you look. It also serves to diminish your credibility as a supposed Subject Matter Expert for the matter at hand.

Since when is a follow-up question seeking additional information irrelevant?

In any case, I'm done with you.

Comical. You state that you are done with me and the continue to blabber on. Perfect.

Well in that case I am going to completely re-think my position on all of this.

Please, cbg/Zinger (and several of the other SMEs on this board). You are far too full of yourselves. You are a group of the most cliched group in the world -- internet bullies. You treat posters with no respect. You are arrogant, condescending, boorish, curt, patronizing and judgmental. I suspect your failings as practicing lawyers have brought you to this place as a last ditch effort to ply your trade. Instead, your frustration and disappointment with yourselves manifests itself regularly and you help very few. Perhaps you have been here too long and have gown cynical. In either case, IMO, it is time to move on. I challenge you to read through your interactions with those who come here seeking help (people who truly need help -- not me -- I posed my questions more out of curiosity than out of need). Do you really think you are helping people given the manner you communicate?

Look yourselves in the mirror.

The only thing wrong that could occur here is that the exempt employee is being improperly given an exempt status.....

Or vice versa I presume. This was the point of the question. What else would you like to know? I though I boiled it down to the relevant points -- all things equal other than efficacy. Let me know what I missed.

Wow! I totally agree with you, ivanl! Looking over responses that were just posted today in other threads, I see lots of what you have complained about here in your thread.

Well said!! And I hope the unacceptable degree of as you say "internet bullying" along with the arrogance, disrespect and condencending behavior that all too often finds itself in many of the threads in this forum and aimed for the most part (and sometimes each other) at Ops desperately seeking answers to their concerns, dissipates like, right now. :(

ivan, please look at willyjo's posting history and see how the experienced responders see his "advice". To say his advice is not respected would be an understatement.

..to say the least.

I know who I'd trust as far as advice goes...regardless of the delivery.

And this has nothing to do with personalities, or anything else. It has to do with the accuracy and veracity of the information given.

Again, I know who I'd trust.
