The reason I'm here asking is actually because I really don't know much about laws and such like you lawers do. Therefore I am asking and responding with the little that I know so far I may be wrong I realize that. So I don't think you being sarcastic and "funny" is going to help much... thank you. I would really appreciate that if you are going to help then take you time to reply... if not your just waisting your time :)

ARTÍCULO 414. AL 3. Gastos de estudios <-- it's in spanish...sorry i couldnt find an english version... so If you know spanish go ehead and read..thats what I have found so far...

told you. it involved a divorce. it wasn't the parent vs the child. each one of the cases listed the settlement between the mother and father of the children. not a state law requiring both parents to cover college expenses. two different animals.

As far as I am aware the healthcare bill is still in effect that requires insurance companies to allow children to remain on their parents' policies until they are 26...I don't believe the children have to be full time students or living at the same residence either.

Everyone else is right about the college expenses, however in most cases a college student is not emancipated for the purpose of health insurance, therefore you should still be able to be covered for health insurance while you are in school (through age 26 under the new health reform act).

That of course assumes that your father still wants to provide health insurance for you.

The insurance company is required to make it available. The parents are not obligated to pay for it.

Many plans have 4 levels:
- Insured person only
- Insured person and spouse
- Insured person and children
- Insured person and entire family

The prices vary significantly and the policyholder can choose whichever one he wants. If he doesn't put the adult kids on the policy, no one can make him (other than a court order).

Correct above. Under the new laws, the insurance carrier/employer must allow a dependent child under the age of 26 to be covered if the parent wishes; it does not require the parents to cover the child if they do not wish to. There's a difference.
