What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? CA

One of my clients has a Domestic Violence Misdemeanor charge in CA from 20 years ago. It is a barrier to employment with many agencies. Is this something that can be expunged so it is not used against her in her search for employment.
She currently resides in OR. (she also does have a 9 year old misdemeanor drug possession charge, that is not such a barrier, but will this affect the 20 year old charge being expunged?).

i dont know much about the law but i suspect that even if it can be expunged the drug charge will still show up and i suspect so will the initial charges even if it gets expunged

im guessing that if this matters that much in a career choise its probably the wrong career sad but true

Thanks, the possession charge is not an issue with the hiring agency. It is only the assualt. I am wondering if the possession after the assualt will prevent the mis assualt from being expunged. The agency can hire, if the assualt is expunged even with the possession. Thanks!

Of course, you answer is wrong. Don't guess...but thanks for admitting that you don't know much about the law.

It will depends upon the specific offenses and the details.

here is information for her:

She should also check with the court where she was convicted to find out if there are any resources to assist her should this be a possibility.
