What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? OR

My wife has joint physical custody with her ex-husband but he has legal custody of their 4 children. My question is that he does not inform her of any doctors appointments and he has even told the middle child (ages range from 8-14) that "mom signed a paper in court so she isn't aloud to come to doctor appointments". (The child's words). her attorney when the custody battle happened over a year ago stated that she would still be aloud to attend doctors appointments and voice concerns but that he would have the final say on all major medical issues. Was she misinformed or is her ex-husband misinformed?

Thanks in advance.

One more bit of information I forgot to add was that we are still expected to pay half of all the medical expenses that the insurance doesn't cover.

Have your wife come and sign up, with her papers in hand. We'll need to know word for word what her orders say.

Thanks :)

Seriously, it's moot if he will have the final say. Her two cents will only delay progress and that's not in the best interest of the child.

I can pretty much assure you that YOU are not expected or required to pay ANY of the medical expenses.
