What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Nevada

Mother dies, father already deceased, only 1 son surviving. Would it be illegal or in any other way wrong, for son to pay household bills in mother's name from her account, (debit card). He will be getting death certificates and letter of administrator, but in the interim, there are bills that need to be paid.

In the end, it will all be his anyway.

No, it would not be illegal. However, if you used any of her money for any other purpose, it could be. However, as long as you did't overdraft her account or use any of her credit cards your only victim could be yourself.
