Indiana. I was wrongfully terminated because of FMLA. Was accused of falsifying document. Labor board dug into it and the company admitted their mistake. Its a large multi billion dollar corporation. This is the second time this has happened. First time i was under a staffing agency, this time a fulltime. Been there about 3 years. Sinc being fired ive had to.move in with family. Borrow money from family. My car was repossed and auctioned. Im behind on credit debt. I owe about 11,000 on the car. Owe family 5000$ my credit is horrible. My family and myself have been stressed. I havnt been able to visit doctor or get high bp prescriptions. Before being fired my foot was being treated due to work related injury and hasnt been fixed. My employers lawyer said they are wanting to settle rather than give me my job back. They are telling me to throw out a number to begin negotiations and im lost on where to start. How much should i ask for?
Thanks!

I'm sorry - There really is no way that we can guess at this.

Considering that you have unresolved medical issues that still need to be addressed, a related work injury that is not fully resolved, and a lot of debt associated with the termination, you are going to want to ask for a fairly decent sum. I am familiar with a few cases where the wrongfully terminated party was given the equivalent of a year or 18 months worth of wages.
