What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California. The officer marked yes for it to be correctable. But marked misdemeanor. Does that mean I have to go to mandatory court? I spoke with the lady at the information booth inside the traffic court and she saw my citation and said that it was weird that he marked misdemeanor when he put yes for it to be corrected. She also said that it will mostly be filed as in infraction. She said all I have to do it mail my corrected citation and with a check of $25 is that true and I would have to go to court?

Yes, these are almost always filed as an infraction unless you have priors. Get a valid license and be prepared to bring it with you on your court date to show the court.

I won't be here on my court date I would be at bootcamp. This was my first citation. The lady said to just have my parents mail my signed off citation with a check. And i wouldn't have to go to court

Wellll ... if I had a nickel for every time that sort of things has gone sideways ...

They can do that, but, there is a chance that things will not go as planned. You might want to appear at court early and make sure this is done.

I tired to appear early to court 2 months prior to my court date. And the information clerk lady gave me that answer since my file isnt even in the system nor has the police report been filed. And i can't push back my shipping date since I'm leaving in 2 weeks

You may want to give your parents all the info including your license and the cite number so they can follow up on it while you are gone.
