Hi, I am a sole proprietor and want to hire my Mom to help me. She wants the time she works with me to count toward her future retirement years. What should we do, what steps to proceed, papers to file and where? Thank you.

You would need to treat her as a true employee. Honestly the easiest and most cost effective way to do that is to use a payroll service. The national payroll service companies generally do a very good job for a very reasonable price.
