What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? ohio

hi i justwent on nov 3rd and did the biometrics for the removal of conditions on my green card. and recently i found out that my husband was cheating on me and he wants to screw me up as he might lose in divorce so i overheard him and my mother in law saying that they were going to make me illegal and cause trouble for me. i am very fearful and i have no idea what to do. can they do that to me and is there anyway i can protect myself. how long does it take to get the New greencard.

I have no idea what your husband and mother-in-law are capable of doing.

You would be wise to consult an immigration attorney AND a divorce attorney before the you-know-what hits the fan.

As long as you have a bona fide marriage (meaning it isn't a "green-card", or scam, marriage), divorce will not mean that you'll be deported.

If he sponsored your residency via the I-864 Affidavit of Support, he is actually legally obligated to support you financially.

You already have the conditional card; you don't actually need him to get those conditions removed.

hi he is the one who applied K! for me and sent me the papers and then applied for the 2 yr green card. he also signed for the removal of the conditions form in august but now since i got the extension for the 1 year and went and gave my bio metrics, i caught him red handed and he is planning a revenge since i'm alone and my family is in Kenya i'm very scared and don't know what extent they can go to.

They're trying to scare you. Neither of them can "get you deported", either. Yes, see an immigration attorney because you need to understand your rights. You have far more rights than your husband is trying to tell you and, as I mentioned, as long as you entered into the marriage in good faith you will be able to adjust your status (remove the conditions) without any trouble (unless there's something you haven't told us). You should also mention the Affidavit Of Support that he signed, when you speak to the divorce attorney.

Please don't fall for their bullying tactics.
