we are offering employee housing and one employee might have a dog and we are wondering who is liable if the dog bites someone on premise. shuold i have them buy tenant insurance so that they are covered?

Yes...All tenants should have rental insurance. The insurance should cover their dog and it's actions.

Curious...didn't you ask your attorney about this?

Your own insurance agent should be able to tell you if there is a insurance product out there specifically to cover tenants with a pet if a bite occurs. If your agent knows of such a product then insist that this employee produce a copy of such policy especially if they haven't moved in yet.
