I have never been married, when I was 20 now I’m 50 I had 3 kids with my girlfriend at the time . We went out separate ways and I would provided my kids everything, to this day I still do and they are almost over 20 . Well the mother of my children gave me a paper to sign she would torment me I signed that paper I didn’t realize it was to pay her money every 2 weeks . I only signed it to get her off my back at the time . Now I’m really low on money i can’t provide her money anymore is there anyway to remove it considering we have never been married or had assets together. I’m in California. I’ve been paying her money for several years now . I feel hopeless , I don’t know what to do since my job isn’t paying me well .

What exactly does that piece of paper say?

If you were 20 when you had three children with the ex girlfriend...and you are 50 years old now...these "children" would be 30 years old.

What the heck was in that paper you agreed to sign?

What to do? Very simple. Two things.

1. Continue to dip into your boodle bag and sending her the moola as if you were dropped on your head in infancy; or

2. Wise up and stop sending her the moola!

Just because you may have signed a ''paper" promising to make the payments doesn't mean that you are legally bound to making those payments. There is such a thing as consideration needed to support any such an agreement. Which may or may not exist and perhaps only known from reading what you supposedly signed. But I have a hunch that you don't know what it is that you signed.

So unless you wish to impoverish yourself what you need to do is to stop making the payments and prove that you are not the spineless invertebrate that she thinks you are and force her to produce whatever she thinks will stand up in a court of law. In the meantime do not communicate with her in any form!

You didn't answer the question about what it was that you signed.

I really don't see any need for you to pay her another dime.

Well, there is always the chance that he has arrears that are being paid off...but really he does need to clear things up about the paperwork he signed.

I wasn't even thinking about an arrears situation because the OP definitely made it sound like an informal arrangement rather than a court order or a stip, however I agree he needs to provide the information about the "paper" he signed.

A "court order"?

"Stip" for "stipulation"? (Aren't we being a bit too casual with our legalese?)

Anyway, how could it be ordered knowing there's never been an intermarriage?

Were you thinking "palimony" the tabloid invention found to be mythical by once actress Michelle Triola Marvin?
