Does having a Lien on an asset make you a part owner in the asset or do you simple have a restriction placed on the asset until you are paid off?

Thanks.

A lien holder does not become owner of the property. The lien holder has a claim on the property that covers an amount owed on a debt.

From Black's Law Dictionary: A lien is a claim, encumbrance, or charge on property for payment of some debt, obligation or duty.

How many threads do you intend to start?

Good information to know. The lien holder is not the owner of the asset. This actually helps my case.

To answer your question, I don't know how many question to post. I guess until I get all the answers to my questions. Keeping things simple means I get questions piece by piece rather than putting a long complex problem that no one will understand or read. Small pieces to a big puzzle.

I hope the free advice forum is not charged per post or something by hosting company or something.

If so, please let me know

Thanks.

Yes. We charge by thread. ;)

Please keep your related questions and all puzzle pieces to a single thread. Thanks.

Oh, ok. I can do that for now on but I warn you that it will most likely get very confusing , off topic quickly and end up at a totally different place than the original question.

You do understand that if you get information in pieces, without the whole as context, that you are far more likely to get BAD advice than good?

His other active thread in this section of the forum has links to all of his previous threads, so forum members can access necessary background information.

For some reason, Norton thinks piecemeal is better. It really isn't, as each additional "piece" added can work to change the picture.

At any rate, he has a single thread to work with now. This thread should be locked. :)
