    Mtg. Broker vs. Title Company

I think so too, and mentioned that to the Broker. His comeback was "the Title company is still responsible then." I told him that the Title company claims he told them to do it and he says "if I told them to jump in a lake would they do that too?". But, we signed the paperwork so I'm afraid...

Texas: back support for 4 years or since birth??

The same thing happened to my husband. Didn't even know he had a child until the kid was 14. Our attorney advised us that the judge *could* go back to birth, and he ended up settling with the Attorney General's office for 4 years. Totally sucks, I know!

    Mtg. Broker vs. Title Company

What is the name of your state? Florida I'll try to make a long story short. 12/12 - I contacted the broker to refi my 30 yr to a 15yr @ 4.5% - he ran the credit, and completed the documents. Early January docs still not received - he "forgot" to send them  2 Appraisers supposedly...

    back child support

Depending on the evidence she has against him regarding his knowledge of the child, he *can* be required to pay back to the birth of the child. However, the law mandates that he may 4 years prior to the filing of the petition. I know.....been there, done that, and still being screwed over to...

Standard of Review for Fl District Court?

What is the name of your state? Florida I'm looking for advice for the Standard of Review for District Court. This is an environmental case regarding the issue of development over wetlands. The Board of county commissioners voted in favor of the developer to allow the project. A petition...

CS after 15 years & what to expect in TX?

Thank you for your reply. Duly noted that her intent both before & now will not be verbally expressed in court (it's just an observation I'm relating to the forum here). The hearing was supposed to be this week according the phone meeting from the AG's office lady from several months ago...

CS after 15 years & what to expect in TX?

Bump for Boxcarbill input, & more quesitons.... My husband has denied paternity in order to get the legal DNA proven, but we have yet to hear back from the court about testing. The hearing is supposed to be next week! I haven't booked a flight yet, and am unsure if I should (although the...

CS after 15 years & what to expect in TX?

Money hungry is definitely my take on it too. Does anyone have any attorney referrals for Houston? I've read such awful attorney stories that I dread sinking my money into some awful attorney when I'm sure that we won't even have enough money if retro is ordered. The only thing I can even...

CS after 15 years & what to expect in TX?

Screwed Well the meeting with the AG officer was a waste of time. She would not settle for just future payments, and had no recommendations for an amount she was looking for. She just kept harping on what we were going to pay for the retroactive amount, and we kept asking what she wanted...

CS after 15 years & what to expect in TX?

Seeing as how he's had no contact with this woman for 15 years, presumably she's somewhere in or around Houston (Harris county maybe?). We don't know her wherabouts for certain, and am not sure if they'd tell us (isn't that stuff confidential?) From this link...

CS after 15 years & what to expect in TX?

There was never a support order filed, and reportedly she has not received AFDC. Her motives are unclear at this point. Talking to different attorneys in the area gets different responses from each; everything from the possibility of retro support from birth to likely just future support...

CS after 15 years & what to expect in TX?

HELP We just received our hearing notice from the AG's office requesting our response to the paternity suit by next week. My husband called the office & our officer told him that this woman is also entitled to 4 years back support!! Can this be? We're totally screwed if so.:(:(
