    I'm just left wondering why the doctor wouldn't send the information to the insurance. I worked in a small clinic, and if there was any way possible to get an insurance to pay on an outstanding account, we jumped all over it :D

    Um... HIPPA now says the records belong to the patient. He/she would have to go to that doctor's office and request copies. Keep in mind, you could be charged for those copies and are required to pay the fee.

    Is the house your own property? If so, then you'll have to check with Illinois state law to see who exactly is responsible for the upkeep of the telephone line, either you or the local phone company. But, if the company is at fault for bad installation, then they may be held liable for it...
