I live in TX, and the SOL has run out on a number of collection agency wishing to get judgements. One did get a judgement against me about 3 years ago for about 10K. when I looked it up on Equifax (I bought the 3/$29.99), it said that in Jan. 01, it was 30 days past due. I was told, that the clock starts ticking, as it relates to SOL, after that. There were no payments made after Dec. of 00. Hope this makes sense.- bearfootball

If a credit report states I was 30 days past due on 1/01, is it safe to say that on 2/05 my 4 years are officially up? I live in TX, and the SOL for legal action is 4 years. Thanks again- bearfootball

Treat this like you're buying a car. Would you take the first offer a car dealer makes?? I hope not. Tell them you'll start the payment process after you get paid, and forget all the 23% interest crap. Remember, these scums want your money..they don't want to go to court. They bought this for probably $5. Make them a reasonable offer and they'll jump all over it. If they "refuse", just say "This is what I am willing to give you...take it or leave it" They'll take it.- bearfootball

JETX, You could be right, however we all know most "attorneys fees" as it relates to collections are bogus fees. some are legit, but other are designed solely to increase the dollar amount and to scare the person into paying more than need be.- bearfootball
