i resently met a guy who is 19, we want to date but my mum said we could but its against the law i read that the age of consent is 16... i dont intend to have sex with him... at least for a loooong time... please dont think im some slut... -_- but i do really like this guy and would like to try going out so im wondering if going out would be legal or not?

Yes, the legal age of consent in Ohio is 16. So, if it's okay with your mother, then it's legal to be going out with him, and, if you so choose, have sexual contact with him.

It's legan and if it's okay with your mom, then you can date him. But I would advise not having sex with him any time in the near future, wait until your at least out of high school.
