What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? CA. Was driving a friend's car and got pulled over for a tail light not working.. got a 16028a VC no insurance ticket . Everything was up to date.. the car ths insurance but under someone else's name(not same as registered owner). how can I fix this mess.?? Any advice will help , thanks

Were you cited for anything else other than the VC 16028(a)? If not, then the cite may well be dismissed for failing to adhere to VC 16028(a) which allows for the cite if a notice to appear is issued for another offense.

Does the citation have a box checked that indicates it is "Owner's Responsibility"? Depending on the county that could mean that the registered owner will get mailed a copy of the citation and you will not ultimately be responsible.

They cited me for 24252a VC broken rear left brake light , and 12500a VC unlicensed driver. Fixed the "light" but didn't get license. The ticket doesn't have any box checked on the correctable violation. I live in Los Angeles County.

The court has the ability to treat an offense as correctable even if the officer didn't mark it as such.
