Got caught in Pulaski county IL doing 45 over the speed limit. I live in another small town nearby. Officer told me he didn't take me to jail because I lived closed by but informed me I had to go to court and I looked it up and seen how serious the offense was. Everyone pretty much knows everyone so hopefully I get caught a break. I don't got to court until Oct so should I come with a lawyer? And I'll take any other advice

Yes, get a lawyer.

Doesn't matter who knows who.

You might be looking at a suspension, maybe jail, and increased insurance rates, if not an outright cancellation.

If the court gives you a break because of who you are then I’d say the court is corrupt. If the court operates as it should then it ought not do that. It would be a very good idea to consult a local attorney who handles traffic matters for advice. That’s your best chance to minimize the consequences.

And in the future you really need to slow down. Going 45 mph over the limit creates a potentially very dangerous situation.
