There was no reason - except she knew the property was not occupied. She was nosey... and she knew, or should have know, it was illegal for her to enter the property. She said she saw a door open in the rear - it was only a rear porch door. She used the police to make what she thought would be seen as a legal entry. She could not have seen the door without a search. It became moot to her when she could not find anything. I did not become aware of the Florida court case that was very similar until recently.
