You cannot use Travel**** or Ex***** to purchase unaccompanied minor tickets. An adult has to be traveling with them. I use Southwest who allows me to purchase online. The beauty is that it costs the same whether I buy 1 way or 2 one-way (round trip) or a round trip. Each leg has their own price. And the 'I didn't fly' policy is great. Don't know about the other airlines. Also, there is NO additional cost for the unaccompanied on Southwest.

A word of caution for those using Southwest (which is a great airline, don't get me wrong).

If the flight will be into or out of TX, you cannot book a direct flight. Gotta' love the Wright Ammendment.

AA has a $150 unaccompanied minor fee that can be paid either one way by each parent or all at once.

Last I checked, the big D and US had the same fees.

I have never specified whether or not the person flying is a minor. I just showed up at the airport with the flight info and filled out the unaccompanied minor form. I really have no idea how my ex used to book the tickets.

Thanks guys, I don't need to fly an unaccompanied minor, I need to fly my whole family!

In that case, I usually have the most success with T-ity. Besides, I can't stand to use the other one because I don't like William Shatner. I know it's silly, but I really hate those stupid commercials. :p

Yep, we did, too.

It's funny, at first, I was to purchase the tickets. He complained that I didn't get the ones he wanted. (Of course, I went for the cheapest because I was paying for them, but she ALWAYS flew into the nearest airport and at a reasonable hour). On the first modification, I agreed to allow him to purchase the tickets. He thought the court would order ME to continue to pay for them while he would have the control of the times, airport, etc. NOPE! The judge made HIM pay for the tickets after he found out that the Ahole was so far behind in CS. He then tried to get the judge to order that he would not have to pay CS. The judge told him, "not a chance. You have a proven history of willful non-payment of child support and I see no reason to give you a pass." (It came out ---by me, of course---that he had access to buddy passes for two different airlines).

Of course, now, with no visitation, it's not an issue. But it was a more amusing moment in the saga.

I know what you mean, my first x would fly them on the worst routes, latest flights, etc. It was really bad. For awhile we split transportation costs, but that was changed when he went overseas, I modified that order, well asked the Courts to.

My second x has not had visitation on his own with the kids since summer of 2000, he can, he is allowed but he doesn't. He comes to our home, visits here. Rarely if ever takes them anywhere but walmart. I should not complain, least I know where the kids are and they are okay.
