Hi
I just got a car from ebay and had it shipped to me (Alabama to mo)
the seller said that the title is going to be in the glove compartment but when i got it all it had was paper work from abandoned car.

the seller failed to let me know it was an abandoned car and that there was no title in fact he said the title will be in the glove box.

i have the calls recorded.

what are my options of getting my money back + transportation cost? can i go to the cops?

thank you

PI would make a report to the police to start. Given the shady dealing so far, for all you know it is a stolen vehicle. You will want to figure that out up front.

Other than that;

If you don't want the car contact the seller and demand your money back, including transport costs as it was not what you agreed to purchase. When he refuses your only option is to sue the guy and if you win, attempt to collect on any judgment awarded.

One thing you might consider although i don't know if it is available in your state;

If the car is not listed as stolen you might look into a bonded title from your state. Often times a vehicle from another state is not eligible for a bonded title but if it is possible, that may be your best way out of your predicament.
Edit to add;

I just realized you purchase through eBay. The second thing (after checking on whether it is stolen) is utilize any avenues provided through eBay. I don't use eBay and don't know a lot of how it works so I can't offer anything other than; take advantage of anythng they offer in the line of assistance.

I cannot imagine what would lead someone to buy a car on eBay, especially sight unseen. To me, that's just looking for a headache.
