I am in california. Recently I posted about my boyfriend leaving his property at my home and he is nowhere to be found. What are the protocols and paperwork I need to follow and file so I can legally obtain pink slips, and no consequences if he does show back up?
Thank You!

My response:

You can never obtain the Pink Slips in your name.

Now, are you also asking about other abandoned personal property? What value do you believe the "other" personal property is worth?

The value is guessed at about $12,000.00. He was supposed to face a judge on battery charges and now has a high dollar warrant for his arrest (without the 10%/ collateral option). He's been gone almost four months. I don't think he's even in the state anymore. The release of liability on the car is in my name, the pink slip is in his possession. I have the car in my possession. The pink slip to the bike is in his name, I have the bike and the pink slip in my possession. I have contacted everyone he knows and his family...he basically just split and said nothing to anyone. I hired a PI and there is no trace of him (no jail, no hospital, no airports, no bank activity, no social security activity, no mail being picked up, no forwarding address). The police have been to my door twice looking for him. I have to move soon (overseas) and I cannot take his belongings with me.
