The evaluators recommend that the parents don't see the report because the evaluator is very objective and frank about both the good things about each parent AND each parent's faults. The evaluators don't want the parents to have the detailed information to attempt to use against each other outside the courtroom....or even to be able to possibly show it to the child someday. A parent might attempt to play games with another parent based on the report. You can demand to see it...but unless your attorney feels that you need to see it I wouldn't worry about it.

However if you find out that dad has seen it...then its better if you see it too.

I'd like to add that I had a forensic evaluation for custody also. My nuttyX has gotten information from personal therapy records released to the court (which I knew I was releasing to the mediator and evaluator but did not know the nuttyX could get them via his attorney :( ) and he has tried to use a childhood trauma against me in court which was humiliating. I was taken by surprise by him having that information.

I was told the trial is delayed because my daughters father hired another expert. My lawyer said the other expert is hired to find problems with the original forensic report. Mostly making me upset is my daughters father making snide remarks about the forensic report. My lawyer said we should not get the report but now I see my daughters father has gotten a copy of it. What does this all mean? How many different reports and people do we have to go through? Does anyone know how long of a delay this will cause us?
