Yeah, it happens all over the place because the store employees just don't care. Its not their life that they are screwing up so why should they care? In a way they are losing money, if they keep doing that to people they will not shop anymore because their store policy is that you can't go back to any kmart if you were caught (or framed) of shoplifting from a kmart store.

Okay .. here's what you do: Have mom and dad hire a laywer and force them to take you to court and actually convict you (or make a true finding ... depending on the terms used in WV).

If you do not go to court, then you are essentially agreeing to the allegations and have little choice bu tto jump through the hoops.

And unfortunately for you, since you are underage, you cannot sue anyone. You can't even hire your own attorney.

Talk to mom and dad ... if they say "no", you're done.

like CdwJava said your under age and unless your parents want to spend thousands of dollars to defend your case theres not a thing you can do. as far as them losing business because of how they treat people, well your young and you will grow out of these emotional out bursts and learn that it don't matter what you say without the proof to back you up,the reciept, without it you lost before you even started. harsh yeah, but thats life.

thats why you keep receipts. sorry but your now in the grown up world and your word means nothing without proof that you didn't take those things. i'm not being mean or nasty, this is just a fact of life. about all you can do is accept it and learn from it. life is full of hard expensive lessons. by getting angry all you did was make yourself look guilty of something. hey thats life, nobody said it was fair and only guilty people get locked up. about all you can do is go to those anti shop lifting classes and make the best of a bad situation. as far as going after the store manager or police, well forget it, they did their job and theres not a thing you can do about it.

Bolded part, by me. Seems to be that our justice system has moved from "innocent until proven guilty" to "guilty until proven innocent". Apparently with the silent approval of the majority. It is just how things are once you are "in the grown up world." Interesting. Almost as interesting as hearing that "you have the right to an attorney" really means "if you are accused of something on MY list, you have the right to an attorney." Almost as confusing as the tax code. :p

yeah what can i say? i had a judge say in open court say he knew the witness was lying but something happened the witness said it did. i did time because of that so like i said uneless you have proof to show your innocent well court appointed attorneies aren't that great if they refuse to do anything for you. its a pain in the bottom when you learn after you sitting in a cell that you can fire the lawyer for not defending you. thats where a lot of first time criminals make their mistake, they go in blind and believe everything they are told without questioning the outcome of their decisions or knowing what to do when brought into court. hard lesson to learn but wiser for having learned it.
