What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? ca
There is a charter bus company that is in direct violation of ADA regulations. I have contacted the local ADA Assistance Office for my area and they have instructed me to file a complaint with the DOJ. Therefore I have a case against them, with class action probability. Can someone instruct me as to a local lawyer that may be interested in pursing this? This company has repeatedly discriminated against disabled passengers and subject to federal fines and/or penalties, They must pay!

The site does not provide referrals, sorry.

Click on the "find an attorney in your area" button and you'll have better luck. Start going through the phone book, too.

Lynda, how nice of you to demand a conviction for an issue that has not even gone to court!

Have you discussed your issues with the particular service provider? That is likely the most direct way to get a response & corrective action. Is there a local or other state agency such the PUC that regulates these companies? They would be another resource that could help resolve the situation.

You stated that the alleged offender is a charter bus company rather than local transit. Depending on the company, it is possible that this company has & is still using vehicles that were manufactured prior to enactment of ADA in the early 1990s. Large intercity parlor buses cost around $500,000 each when new so it is understandable that they will continue to use older vehicles as long as they are reliable and suitable for the service. I have contracted for charter bus services and the providers DO ask for information concerning whether any passengers require special accommodations. try working with these folks & you'll find they are more than helpful if they knoe the needs soon enough to assign the most appropriate vehicles they have for the specific needs.
