What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? CO

I was curious what needs to be added on a websites Terms of Use or/and Privacy Policy when a persons IP address is no longer just used for the webteam to track, but shown to the public?

I read the thread under this, so obviously its legal. I am a webmaster and I feel something needs to be added to the documents before I let it go live.

Thanks

Since it's legal to display one's IP, you're not really obligated to inform everybody of that. But if this is for your own conscience, then go ahead and add the line "you agree to allow us to blah blah blah blah blah" in your UA.

Not that this necessarily applies to your situation, but is certainly good to know for any potential future endeavors, please note that disclaimers or UA's don't necessarily protect you from any potentially illegal activities that may occur on your website, either caused by you or by anybody that happens to visit your happy little forum.

The search bar on this site may yield you a wealth of knowledge if you have concerns about certain items, otherwise I would suggest talking to a local attorney. Many attorneys offer free/cheap consultations, so take advantage of this and sit down with a couple to see what insight they may have to offer.
