Sorry Hexeliebe and HomeGuru. I must be missing something here. I'm trying to determine if an auto dealership can turn down an auto loan app from someone over 85 and give a bogus reason like the car is a coupe. There are federal regulations against age discrimination. An auto dealer isn't a federal agency like a bank. Does any kind of age discrimination apply to them, or can they just turn down whomever they want for whatever reason they want? Whether the ultimate decision is made to finance through another dealer or a bank or a credit union doesn't seem to apply to the rationale of the action taken by this particular dealer.
