On Nov 24th i got a aggravated DUI. i was held in the county jail for 1 day before i got to see the judge and was released by posting a bail bond. apparently i had an outstanding ticket in flagstaff arizona and i never paid it. since i never paid it the DMV suspended my Drivers License. in the state of Arizona if you recieve a DUI while you license is suspended it becomes an aggravated DUI charge. i was told by the judge it is a class 4 felony charge which requires mandatory prision time. i have never recieved a moving violation before nor a DUI and cannot believe they would attempt to prosecute me with a felony charge requiring mandatory jail time. i didnt even know my license was suspended! how should i fight this? what should i do? i am already in the process of getting my drivers license reinstated so that i have possesion of it when i show up in court. what else should i start doing to be proactive? if there any other questions. please feel free to ask.
