I live in the state of Ohio and was divorced in 1994. My X was ordered to pay support because of more than 1 factor. One was because I was disabled and unable to work. We were married for 12 yrs, 13 counting the separation til divorce was final. The divorce decree does not state an ending date for the alimony except if one of us dies. There is nothing in there stating alimony will stop for any other reason. I have no medical coverage. I have health problems and cannot get the medical attention I need. All of my doctors have declined to see me anymore because I cannot pay the bill. The only doctor I can afford now is the clinic where they go by my income and I pay $5 per visit but any tests or medications are at my expence. I have recently had a heart attack and cannot get the tests or medication that I need. My boyfriend and I would like to get married so that he can add me to his insurance policy but we could not make it on his salary alone. I guess my question is: Will the court take my alimony away if I remarry even if it does not state that it will in the divorce decree?

Yes.. because there will then be someone else to support you. You will not be able to claim that you need support from the ex whilst living with your new husband.
