What is the name of your state? Right now Nevada but will soon move to Kentucky.

I was awarded alimony in Washoe County, Nevada until I reach the age of 62 or if I remarry. If I move to Kentucky and live with my fiance can a common law marriage be used by my ex to have the alimony payments stopped? Also, if I move to Kentucky and not move in with my fiance can the alimony payments be stopped by my ex because I no longer live in the state of Nevada?

I am getting alimony and this is what I was told,If the court awarded you alimony. Your ex has to pay you until your 62 like it say's. It doesn't matter if you are living in another state. I was told that I had to have my own bank acount with my own name and KnoW one else on the acount, Inless it's your kid.

I was also told your not surpose to be living with a boyfriend but you can have a room mate. I don't know why. My ex is with a woman. Why should I be with out a friend to live with...

If you are using your boyfriend's name your ex can take you back to court and you will lose some or all. Why should he pay if you are going to live like your married to someone else. That's how they see it.
Keep your own Name on everything and your bank too. Hope this will help you.........
