What is the name of your state? California

I am considering filing bk. I am going through a divorce due to my husband gambling. He charged 16,000.00 on three credit cards to casinos in three months. No charges on the cards were made by me. Is is possible to make him solely responsible for these charges since they are abussive or do I have to pay. He is jobless now and on parole for drug violation as well. I am trying to make it and I can not pay these bills.

You have a real problem. CA is a community property state. That means you are both liable for debts incurred by the other during the marriage. :(

Liable? Am I responsible?

If it is an unsecured credit card(s) I would consider challenging the so-called debt administratively before contemplating BK.

Nothing 'so-called' about it, he used the cards, he's liable.. and so is his wife in a community property state.
